My Story
Karen is an award-winning author and scientific researcher at the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science. She completed a double major in Molecular Biology and Human Biology, Immunology, & Disease. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in environmental microbiology.
Karen is committed to supporting children and her community. She has worked with kids through hospital volunteer programs, children’s hockey coaching, and was the founder of a non-profit organization aimed at helping homeless youth in need.
Her children’s book Wash Your Hands, Juno! has won the 2025 Research and Creative Prize at the University of Toronto, was a finalist in the 2025 Research Forum, and has gained widespread attention from media sources. It is now distributed across elementary schools, hospitals, and daycares, reaching young readers in diverse settings.
